Proposed moratorium on CO insurance mandates

Peoples Press Collective » Proposed one-year moratorium on new Colorado insurance mandates.
A bi-partisan attempt to point the cost curve in the right direction. I work with people everyday and have to explain why premiums are high … thanks for the help.

Hopefully they can reverse the mandate. One of the toughest things for an insurance company is to provide good coverage at an affordable rate when they are required by the state to add mandated coverage. If you are a single male, why should you help pay for someone elses cervical screening? What if you just want a bare bones policy for catastrophic injury or illness? Why should you pay for wellness or mental health benefits that you don’t want and can’t afford. A good compromise might be to have both types of coverage available.
